BIO
Arthur Bembury is the Executive Director of Partakers, Inc. and the recipient of the Noam Chomsky Award from the Justice Studies Association for his work in Social Justice and for making an impact in Criminal Justice Reform. Arthur has been associated with Partakers for more than 20 years; first as a student in the Boston University Prison Education Program and then as an employee.
His business and prison experience make him uniquely qualified to interact with Massachusetts correctional institutions as well as prison education programs at our partner educational institutions. As a co-founder of the Tufts University Reentry Initiative, the Partaker’s Reentry Program with the Brandeis Educational Justice Initiative, and several residential treatment facilities in Southern California, his experience with the challenges facing marginalized populations drives his ambition to find practical and innovative solutions to reducing recidivism, changing lives, and strengthening communities. Arthur has been selected as a Transformational Leader by the Lenny Zakim Fund and attended Boston University and is a graduate of The Boston University Questrom School of Business Non-Profit Management and Leadership Program.
