BIO
Chris Richmond has a wide variety of experience in top leadership positions in both the public and private sector. His Public Sector career began in The North Carolina Department of Corrections where he was a Program Director and the Director of an Area Classification Center and continued to The Massachusetts Corrections Department where he was appointed as Deputy Commissioner for Community Programs. He was responsible for the implementation, operations, and expansion of these programs throughout the State from 1973-1978. He completed an MBA degree at The Boston University School of Management during that time. After moving to New York, he was appointed an Associate Commissioner of operations in The New York State Office of Mental Health where he was responsible for the operations of all the downstate mental hospitals.
Much of his subsequent career he led Financial Services firms of various types. During the late 70’s he worked at the Municipal Assistance Corporation, created to finance New York City during its fiscal crisis and then was appointed CEO of the Dormitory Authority in New York, a public authority that financed and constructed hospitals and universities in the State. He subsequently became the President and COO of the country’s largest mechanical and electrical engineering firm, Syska and Hennessey. In 1990, Chris was recruited to GE Capital, where he became CEO of three different financial services businesses. The last of these businesses was a Global leasing business which became the 8th largest company in General Electric. Chris was appointed an officer of General Electric in 1996. After leaving GE in 2001, Chris became the Chairman and CEO of a technology firm in Boston and then named a Director at Truepoint, a management consulting firm with clients in the US and Europe.
